Life can feel discouraging when you know something needs to change but you are not sure where to begin. Maybe you have tried to move forward and found that old patterns, anxiety, fear, or unexpected circumstances keep getting in the way. Maybe you are carrying prior trauma, adjusting to a diagnosis, walking through a major transition, or trying to make peace with a reality you did not choose. I am so glad you are considering therapy.
Before pursuing my counseling degree, I spent more than six years in the anti-trafficking field, including residential work alongside people seeking healing from exploitation and abuse. In that work, I saw that real healing is possible, even when someone has been failed by the people and systems that were supposed to protect them. I also spent years walking alongside survivors carrying complex trauma and complicated mental health diagnoses. Over time, I came to see that caring presence matters deeply, but wise counsel also requires clarity, discernment, and a thoughtful roadmap for healing. Clinical training has helped me better understand where someone is, what may be keeping them stuck, and how to walk with them toward meaningful growth in a way that is evidence-based, holistic, and grounded in hope.
As a Graduate Intern under the supervision of Latasha Teamer, MS, LPC-S, LMFT-S, I work with adolescents and adults from many different life situations, including those navigating trauma, exploitation or abuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, military lifestyle, emotional regulation, and family stress. In our work together, we will identify what feels heaviest, clarify what healing and growth could look like, and map out meaningful steps forward.
I offer counseling from a distinctly Christian perspective. Christian counseling is the lens through which I conceptualize healing, identity, change and wellness. You do not need to share my faith for our work to matter: it would be an honor to journey alongside you no matter what your faith perspective. During our time together, I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients notice patterns that may no longer be working, respond differently to difficult thoughts and emotions, clarify what matters most, and take practical steps toward meaningful change.
