Counseling and Therapy Services
All services available to our community are client-centered and based on shared understanding and collaboration. To fit the unique needs of individuals seeking services, we offer the following therapy options:
Adulting can be hard, and the pressures can become overwhelming. Adult counseling and therapy is offered for individuals 18 and over. We specialize in the following adult services: acute stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, work/life balance and life transitions. No matter what season of life you are in, we are here to help.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
This modality offers services in the context of relationships, as we are all interconnected beings. If you are experiencing a problem, that problem is viewed from a shared lens. Your provider will look at the relationships that encompass your life and work to find resolve within those relationship patterns. Within this model, we offer the following services: couple's and marriage counseling, discernment counseling, family therapy, and premarital counseling.
The EMDR approach believes past emotionally-charged experiences are overly influencing your present emotions, sensations, and thoughts about yourself. For example, do you ever feel worthless although you know you are a worthwhile person? EMDR processing helps you break through the emotional blocks that are keeping you from living an adaptive, emotionally healthy life. EMDR uses rapid sets of eye movements to help you update disturbing experiences, much like what occurs when we sleep. This modality helps you update your memories to a healthier, more present perspective and is available for all ages.
We are not made to go through life alone. Group counseling and therapy allows for you to build bridges of hope with individuals who are journeying on a similar path. In this modality, one or more providers work with a group of individuals with similar life circumstances. Group counseling is a great way to support others while receiving support, gain differing perspectives while building effective social, and gain confidence by seeing other overcome their difficulties.
Marriage and Family Counseling
This modality is primarily used to help children ages 3 to 11 explore their lives and freely express repressed thoughts and emotions through play. Play Therapy aims to help children learn healthier ways to express themselves, form respectful relationships, have more positive interactions with others, and discover effective ways to solve problems in a positive manner.
The lives of military families are very different from mainstream America, and the difficulties faced are amplified by military culture. Frequent relocations, deployments, inconsistent schedules, and concerns for safety are only a few of the challenges faced by military families. Services offered take into account the unique needs of military lifestyles such as targeted interventions, non-conventional hours, and service providers that have in-depth knowledge of military terminology.
Child and Teens Counseling and Therapy
Child and teen counseling and therapy is designed for ages 10 to 17. Services for this age group aim to mitigate social, developmental, behavioral and emotional difficulties, while reframing irrational thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and feelings through conversation. Talking and thinking through struggles, in order to gain insight and problem solving abilities, is highly utilized with this age group.
